There

Don’t go there in the dark,
Not in bright sunlight either.

Go when the light is kind
And the air is sweet.

Wander the lanes.
Find an old familiar path.
Your feet remember the curve
And feel the stones and roots,
The soft earth.

Bring back the smells, the sounds,
The taste on your tongue.
That look of surprise.
Recall the transgression,
And ask yourself why?
